One immediate thing you can do right now to keep yourself healthy and toxin free?
Get rid of products with un-natural fragrance. Currently, fragrances are protected under trade secret law so you don't know what kind of toxic chemicals you're getting. For adults AND children.
I'm sure many of you have read about the recent resent debacle involving Johnson and Johnson baby powder containing carginogenic residue.
SEE HERE:
http://www.niticentral.com/2013/04/29/fda-suspends-license-of-johnson-johnson-71638.html I've been warning people to stay away from these products for over a decade, it's hard to believe they still keep making these toxic products and market it for use on babies
Start by getting rid of : scented body washes, air fresheners, dryer sheets, perfumes and scented body lotions that go directly on the skin.
For body products, I just use essential oils with a carrier oil like raw coconut oil, almond oil or apricot seed oil. I don't use air fresheners, but I will mix natural eucalyptus, lemon oil, or lavender oil with pure water in a glass or stainless steel spray bottle for air freshening.
Petrolatum is listed as a probable human carcinogen and is linked to cancers such as breast cancer. It is toxic to the nervous system and contains PAHs : Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
An interesting fact? John Hopkins University named mineral oil in cosmetics and moisturizers as the number two cause of aging!!!
